Moving/just moved to Sweden?

Välkommen till Sverige! Congratulations on your new adventure! We hope you will be very happy in Sweden. Currently we understand that about 2,500 people with Irish citizenship are living here.

Although the Society’s board doesn’t itself have the capacity to provide information on moving, housing, education etc. to everyone who arrives, collectively our members have a wealth of experience and are more than willing to help.

By joining the Society, you will be added to our Facebook group where you can get in touch with them. Read more about membership and all the benefits here.

You can reach the Irish Embassy by visiting their website. You can also email them for information: stockholmembassy@dfa.ie.

The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) deals with the civil registration of private individuals as well as with taxes. You'll find important information about how to register yourself properly at their website here (in English). This is important as you will need it to prove you live here and to avail of services.
