Celtic Utopia Screening & Discussion

"Celtic Utopia” is a 2025 documentary film directed by Dennis Harvey and Lars Lovén that explores a new wave of Irish folk musicians who are redefining traditional music while confronting the country's colonial and conservative past.

Irish folk music can range from punk to pub-gothic and is often politically charged. After the screening there will be a conversation with Celtic Utopia director Lars Lovén. The screening is in collaboration with the Swedish-Irish Society and Folkets Bio, perhaps with more guests from the Irish Gothenburg scene. More info follows here in the event
