  Family Fun Day is Coming! 

  Looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday morning with family and friends?

  Join us for our Swedish-Irish Society West Coast Family Fun Day in beautiful Skatås for a relaxed morning of games, laughter and great company! 

  Here's a taste of what we're planning...

   Kevin Bell Charity 5km Run
   Egg & Spoon Race
   Three-Legged Race
   Wheelbarrow Race
   Kubb (a Swedish favourite!)
   Irish Explorer Challenge for our younger adventurers 
   Casual games and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors

  Whether you're feeling competitive or simply want to enjoy a coffee, a chat and cheer everyone else on, there'll be something for everyone.

   Saturday 29 August

   Skatås, Gothenburg

  We'll tailor the activities to the group on the day, so whether there are 20 of us or 100, there'll be plenty to enjoy!

  The Swedish-Irish Society West Coast Chapter invites you to Afterwork at The Northern Quarter.

  Whether you are new to Gothenburg or practically a local, we hope you join us the first Thursday of the month for a chance to meet others in the community, practice some cúpla focal or even start to learn, share music and stories, swap books or get tips on where to find all your favorite treats and essentials from back home but, most importantly, have the craíc.

  I hope you’re all enjoying the summer and the lovely weather. A big thanks to everyone who attended the St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations! A great day was had by all! Thanks to Fagans for hosting us again and they’re ongoing support!

  We’re excited to bring back Phil’s Fun Day! It’s a community event full of laughter, friendly competition, and great company brought to you by Skåne Swedish-Irish Society and Malmö GAA.

  Time: Saturday, 5th of September – Arrive by 11:00 AM

  Teams: Randomly formed groups, max 5 per team

  There will be a variety of fun challenges and a prize presentation to wrap up the day. We’ll also have hot-dogs, drinks, and maybe something extra for the kids, so come hungry and ready to enjoy!

  What to Bring

  Bring yourself, your energy, and maybe a friend or two... and a bottle of water! We’ll take care of the rest. If the forecast is bad, bring your rain clothes! This event will be going ahead regardless.

• Ireland for Kids through Dance and Stories

  Come join us in the Mirror Room for an hour of Irish dance and a story, Adventures in Ireland, in English, Swedish, and Ukrainian! Registration is required, but the event is free!

  The Swedish-Irish Society West Coast, Maureen's School of Irish Dance, 'ittle Bear Sweden, and Novo Klubb have partnered to bring children of all ages and nationalities together in this event that shares the joy and warmth of Ireland with children of Gothenburg.

  Maureen will teach an Irish dance, and local author, Sarah Wills Carlsson, will read 'ittle Bear's Adventures in Ireland, sharing the story of a stuffed bear who comes to life and experiences Ireland, Irish culture, and her own Irish dance. Together with Novo Klubb, readings of the book will be given in English, Swedish, and Ukrainian, making this a warm and welcoming hour for children in many ways!

  All children are welcome (with parental supervision) and the event is free of charge, but registration is required and limited.
